Another Great Night at the G!

On Friday 5th July the Riddell Umpires Junior event for the year took place, a bus picked up our junior umpires and headed to the mighty MCG to go and watch Hawthorn take on Collginwood. 4 young aspiring umpire's got to visit the umpire's rooms before the match and took a great picture with the three field umpires for the match.

(Left to Right: Robert Findlay, Harley Darmanin, Finley Magee, Natalie Port, Ronan Bolger, Brandon Warren, Simon Meredith, Craig Fleer)

Junior Coach Harley Darmanin organised and ran this Junior event, and like the previous years it has been another successfull event. Harley said it was great to see the umpires hangout together and 'build friendships'.

RU meeting AFL

A big Thankyou to Umpire AFL for making this happen and letting 4 of our young umpire's have a great expereince.

The Riddell Umpire's got to watch a tight encounter between Hawthorn and Collingwood where the margin necer exceeded 18 points, Hawthorn made a late surge by kicking 5 goals to 3 in the final quarter to secure a much needed victory. This win pulls them out of the bottom four with an appetizing clash in Tasmania against the Dockers next week. Collingwood will be looking to bounce back as they prepare to face the Eagles in a Grand Final rematch! As for our Riddell umpires  especially those who spoke with the field umpires before the game, they will take what they learnt from the AFL Umpires and look to finish the season off strong as we enter the bussiness end of the Junior season.
