Our Mission & Vision
At Riddell, our mission is to provide umpires of the highest quality to football in our district. Our goal is to train umpires to reach the best of their abilities and then provide them with the forum to turn it into a career.
To achieve our mission we engage some of the best AFL umpiring coaches available. These coaches play a crucial role in our success in developing some of the best umpires in the country.
Our Facilities
We pride ourselves on having access to a high-quality training facility and venue. A recent multi million dollar upgrade to Diggers Rest Recreation Reserve is now complete, and Riddell Umpires are excited to call this our home from 2024 and beyond.
Our facility includes:
- Two full-sized, fully illuminated (to local competition specs) football ovals
- A brand new, two-story, state of the art sports pavilion which is used for our umpire theory sessions, and any necessary indoor training as well as for our hot meals and socialising after training
- 4 changerooms to facilitate both ovals as well as separated changerooms for umpires on gameday
- A new car park and vehicle access points

Why Join Riddell Umpires?
From looking for a new career to earning some money on the side. Umpiring can open up many avenues. There are many avenues for getting involved. For some people options such as boundary umpiring or goal umpiring may be more suited to them than the traditional field umpiring.
